We are looking for motivated students who are interested in experimental condensed matter research. Prospective graduate students should apply to the Ph.D. program at the UCR Department of Physics and Astronomy. If interested in The Joe Lab, you are encouraged to email before and/or after applying to discuss opportunities, potential projects, and funding options.
The Joe Lab will support 1 graduate student to apply for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program each year. Graduate students must apply for this fellowship within the first month of their graduate career, so the application must be developed during the summer prior to the fall quarter of their first year. Accepted graduate students at UCR who are interested in applying should contact Prof. Joe to discuss potential project ideas.
Opportunities are available for dedicated undergraduate students who are interested in getting involved with research. Interested students in physics, chemistry, engineering sciences, data science, computer science and related majors are welcome. Please email Prof. Joe to discuss interests and opportunities.
